I put some threaded rod through the stanchion and socket to hold the tool on squarely and a washer and nut on the bottom. I’m so pleased.
Your oil seal holder tool looks great, but I can’t see how you can get it over the top part and locate it in the chrome cover slots.

Hi Malcolm, the fork seal tool is designed for the earlier seal housing which did have the larger top lip or top O ring dust seal as per the new replacement ones, I have in the past cut just above the two side lugs leaving the three lugs which will then pass around the centre of the housing and found the tool to work ok just picking up on the three slots.
