REPLY TO COMPLAINT FROM Terry Macdonald
Further to our telephone conversation, having measured the components could I point out that the machined slots in the aftermarket component are only 1.315″ across flats and the original equipment bush retainer were 1.275″ across flats. The problem being in the reproduction of the lock ring not the tool, something I would have thought a person who has rebuilt 340 sets of Triumph Forks could see.
I do not see that the problem lies with the tool, though a little dressing would overcome this, my offer of refund on return of the tool in resalable condition still stands.
I will amend the listing now I am aware of the problem, but I now see from other companies advertising similar tools that non-original Lock Rings are causing similar problems.

John Thomas
